The application deadline is May 14, 2024.
USDA is accepting applications for the Farmers Market Promotion Program (FMPP). FMPP supports the development, coordination, and expansion of direct producer-to-consumer markets to increase access to and availability of locally and regionally produced agricultural products. FMPP offers four types of funding: 36-month Capacity Building, 36-month Community Development Training and Technical Assistance, 24-month Turnkey Marketing and Promotion, and 24-month Turnkey Recruitment and Training. Capacity Building projects range from $50,000 to $250,000, while Community Development Training and Technical Assistance projects range from $100,000 to $500,000. Funding for Turnkey projects ranges from $50,000 to $100,000. Agricultural businesses, producer networks, nonprofits, and local governments are among those eligible to apply. The program requires a 25% funding match.
