Feedback Sought on Perennial-Crop Decision-Making Tool

Argonne National Laboratory has developed Scaling Up PERennial Bioenergy Economics & Ecosystem Services Tool (SUPERBEEST), an online geospatial decision-making tool regarding the adoption of perennial crops on current, marginal row crop land in the U.S. Midwest. The free, online geospatial tool has the capability to identify and assess marginal farmland based on seven economic or environmental marginality factors, and the ability to identify candidate locations for saturated bioenergy buffers. Future capabilities will include determination of the ecosystem services associated with a conversion to perennials and the estimation of the economics of that change. Argonne National Laboratory is currently collecting feedback via an online questionnaire on SUPERBEEST and how it can be refined to improve user accessibility and functionality.
