Grower’s Guide for Black Currants Now Available
The Savanna Institute has compiled a Black Currant Grower’s Guide that’s available in English, Spanish, and Hmong. The Savanna Institute touts black currants as cold-hardy, shade-tolerant woody perennials that regenerate soil and draw down carbon. The shrub crop matures relatively quickly compared to other woody perennials, is machine harvestable, and is not a preferred food for whitetail deer. The Grower’s Guide is available online.
