We grow about 1/4 acre of (non-certified) organic vegetables, care for heritage and newly planted fruit orchards, raise laying hens, tend 1 beehive, and rotate a small herd of cattle in the pasture. We sell our goods at 2 farmers markets and a local food hub. "

Number of Internship Available: 1
Application Deadline: Open until filled
Minimum Length of Stay: 3 to 4 months

Internship Details:

“Intern will work 5 days a week, approximately 8 hours a day. The week will consist of two general farm days (moving livestock, planting, cultivating, compost management, trail work), one harvest day, one farmers market day, and one maintenance day. No drugs, no smoking.

Educational Opportunities: "Our small farm will give you a little taste of a lot of things - this is a true small-scale diverse farm. We offer opportunities to learn about rotational grazing, poultry care, beekeeping in a top bar hive, hoop house growing, diverse crops, and marketing. There will also be trail building opportunities and lots of opportunities for nature exploration."

Skills Desired: "General maintenance and farm work experience are desired. The intern will be responsible for mowing, weed eating, and light maintenance work 1 day a week."

Meals: Shared lunches on work days will be provided. Produce and eggs from the farm are always available to the intern but he/she is responsible for all other food and preparing their own meals. Occasionally we host farm dinners for everyone working on the farm.

Stipend: "There will be a one week trial period where the intern and the host will make sure our arrangement is a good fit. After the trial period, there will be a stipend of $100/week. "

Housing: Housing is provided in an amazing cabin with all the amenities on a beautiful adjacent property. The cabin is spacious and would be suitable for a couple but we can only compensate one intern.
