General Farm Description: "The Bohemian Farmers? Collective (BFC) is a group of women who have been farming organically on various pieces of land in West Sonoma County for the past 10 years. We are committed to cultivating synergy with each other, the land and our community. By utilizing ecological farming practices that restore agricultural integrity and create beauty, health, and abundance, we seek to nurture biodiversity and inspire adaptability for a future of limitless potential. The BFC focuses on growing specialty greens, medicinal herbs, flowers for bouquets and private events (and the bees), mixed vegetables, and open pollinated seed crops that we?re adapting to our bioregion. "

“Farm Apprenticeship: Full Season Farmer (April-Dec)

The BFC is offering a full season apprenticeship position to work with all of the Collective?s projects. The Collective manages three small yet highly intensive gardens around West Sonoma County, California. The apprentice will learn all aspects of our farming operation and work very closely with BFC member Carly Castagnola.

Apprenticeship Details:
The apprentice will work 20 hours per week, in exchange for private on-farm lodging with access to a shared kitchen and shared bathhouse.

The apprentice will experience the BFC culture by working with all of the women on the various lands we tend.


Educational Opportunities: "The apprentice will learn all aspects of our farming operation, which includes cultivating and selling flowers, medicinal herbs, speciality greens, and vegetable seeds. There is a large emphasis on seed saving, and various opportunities to learn all aspects of seed production, from crop planning + design, bed prepping, planting and selecting, to harvesting, processing and packaging. "

Skills Desired: Qualifications: (1) A strong desire to learn farming in a communal setting. (2) At least 1 year farming experience is required. (3) Physical strength and stamina are essential! (4) Ability to work as part of a team.
