Internship informationGeneral Farm Description: "Located in Union County in beautiful Southern Illinois, Dayempur Farm is a Center for Sustainable Living. Since 1997, Dayempur Farm has served as a model to support organic agriculture, eco-building, renewable energy, medicinal herbal production, community development and spiritual growth. Dayempur Farm has established relationships and worked with schools and organizations in the downstate area. Students may receive school and college credits with the approval of their respective departments. Paid internships are available based on availability. Our offerings are flexible and time frames can be adjusted to meet participants' interests and needs. "

“The Dayempur Farm 10 week internship provides the participant training and hands-on experience in the following areas: 1) sustainable organic agriculture, 2) renewable energy, 3) natural home building, 4) medicinal herbs, 5) natural and chemical-free beekeeping, 6) team building, 7) community development, and 8) expeditionary education.”
Educational Opportunities: "With approval of University Departments, participants may earn University credit."
Skills Desired: "Skill levels can vary. We are looking for responsible, honest, open-minded, hard working individuals who can follow instructions and who are passionate about learning."
Meals: Farm fresh lunches are provided. Organic produce and free range eggs are available. Cooking facility is available.
Stipend: $100 per week. 5 work days per week. 5 hours per day.
Housing: "A beautiful rustic straw bale cabin in the woods is provided based on need. The cabin is simply furnished, has small cooking stove, fire pit, fresh water is provided for cooking and washing. No running water or electricity."
