Internship informationGeneral Farm Description: We are a small family homestead near Point Arena in southern Mendocino county. We have over 20 years experience organic farming on the northern California coast. In our 2-acre garden we grow vegetables for a community CSA and flowers; we also raise pastured poultry and maintain a small goat dairy herd. Our 15 acres of coastal prairie overlooks the Garcia River Valley and straddles the San Andreas Fault.

“We are looking for a single person or couple. Tasks will include all aspects of organic gardening (from seed propagation and planting to cultivation and harvesting), goat milking and other animal chores, and possibly helping with building projects if skill and/or interest exist. “
Educational Opportunities: Hands-on learning.
Skills Desired: Prior gardening experience helpful. Carpentry experience a plus.
Meals: Interns make their own meals in their living space. Meals are occasionally shared.
Stipend: 10 hours per week of work trade in exchange for housing and garden food. There may be opportunities for paid work on-site in addition to the work trade. In past years some interns have also found part-time work off-site.
Housing: A cozy Airstream trailer with kitchen and woodstove.
