“FARM SITE MANAGER:
We are currently seeking (4) Project EATS farm site managers to join our team in 2019! Site managers will have the unique opportunity to apply their skills in small-scale production farming in the heart of New York City. We are seeking experienced farming professionals to lead operations in 3 regions: Brooklyn, Manhattan-Randall's Island and Staten Island. We are also seeking an experienced rooftop farmer to oversee two new rooftop farm sites on Manhattan's Lower East Side and the Bronx———Site managers will report directly to the Farm Operations Director, managing the daily operations on a regional network of soil-based, high production small farm plots growing vegetables for Project EATS- diverse array of markets and community programming. Site managers will oversee a small team of seasonal farmers and will work with the Workforce Development Coordinator to incorporate trainees from our educational programs and volunteer laborers into regular farm tasks. To be effective in this position, qualified applicants must have experience in farm management, be confident in their ability to implement standards of efficiency for farm laborers, while maintaining a healthy, productive work environment. A site manager will effectively represent the Project EATS organizational mission at all times and be comfortable working in a diverse array of communities.
