General Farm Description: "The Borner Farm Project is a working 2-acre farm in the heart of Prescott, Wisconsin, uniquely located on a 20-acre parcel of undeveloped property. This is our tenth year in production! We grow a wide variety of produce using organic methods, and sell our produce at our on-site farm market, as well as through our CSA and to several local businesses. We host semi-monthly community pizza nights, where we make our own dough, use our own veggies, and bake the pizzas in our two hard-working wood-fired brick ovens. We offer classes and workshops throughout the year, and are involved with sustainability efforts in the Prescott community, as well as in the larger St. Croix Valley region. "

Educational Opportunities: "Soil-blocking, transplanting, direct-seeding, natural pest control, soil-amending, crop rotation/succession, and harvesting/storing produce are just a few of the many duties and educational opportunities an intern might be exposed to. Interns can learn the nuts and bolts of permaculture. Minor construction projects (chicken coops, greenhouses, etc) and permaculture-oriented projects (hugelkultur beds, rainwater catchment, designing microclimates) may pop up periodically. All interns will become pizza-making professionals!"

Skills Desired: "No prior experience in a farm or garden setting is required! Our goal is to educate; as long as you've got a desire to learn independently as well as from and alongside co-workers and community members, you're set. We’re looking for hard-working, responsible, positive, and open-minded candidates to complete our farm force for the 2018 season."

Meals: Meals will be discussed on an individual basis during the application process.

Stipend: Interns will receive an hourly wage which will be discussed before the internship starts. They will also have the opportunity to travel down to take a week-long Permaculture Design Certification course with Midwest Permaculture.

Housing: Interns will be responsible for finding housing off-site.
