General Farm Description: Black Dirt Farm is a diverse vegetable farm just west of Portland, OR. We grown a wide range of produce for sale at local farmers markets. We are not certified organic, but strive to grow healthy food using sustainable methods that build healthy soil.

Internship Details:

We are looking for someone to join the farm crew in a part-time status. This is a job, not an internship. The position is for 16-24 hours a week. applicants must be available to work Fridays, as this is our harvest day. We can be flexible with the remaining hours to accommodate another job. Fridays, as mentioned will be spent harvesting and washing produce, the rest of the time will be split among the day to day tasks on a diverse vegetable farm, including planting, weeding, managing irrigation, etc. Pay starts at $12/hr for the first month. After the initial “trial month” the opportunity exists for increased pay and hours.

Educational Opportunities: While there are no structured educational activities, there will be many opportunities to ask questions and discuss farming practices. We've also accumulated a small library of farm books that are available to the crew.
