Internship information
General Farm Description: Covelo Organic is a 10 acre family operated organic garden located in Mendocino County, Ca. We grow over 30 varieties of fruits and vegetables and sell them at grocery stores, schools, to caterers, restaurants, at local farmers markets and through our CSA. We are currently seeking crew members for the 2018 season. This position is full time (5 eight hour days per week). The main season starts in April and ends between October and November. We are seeking flexible and hard working individuals that can work well independently as well as part of the team. The work can be very physical, requiring heavy lifting, cultivating, harvesting, weeding, and maintaining a positive attitude in a fast paced work environment. Other work will be less physical requiring more focus and attention to detail. You must have the ability to work in the sun. Experience in vegetable production is desired but not necessary. Good communication skills, ability to follow directions, meet high quality standards and stay on task are also important. Covelo is a remote agricultural community in Northern California. The Round Valley is nestled just west of the Eel River and Mendocino National Forest. We have plenty of space for camping (you will need to bring your own equipment). A camper and offsite housing may be available for those who commit to working the entire season. Come join us while gaining insight into how a small scale production farm produces high quality organic produce, and connects to our local agricultural community!! If interested, or for more information you can contact us at brandon@coveloorganic.com. Please attach your resume along with any questions you have. Thank you!
