General Farm Description: Located atop of Abbot Hill, in the town of Wilton of southern New Hampshire, Temple-Wilton Community Farm ranges over more than 130 acres of pasture, hayfields, vegetable fields, and woods. Internship Details:

We are seeking apprentices to join our vegetable crew for the 2020 growing season. This is a full-time apprenticeship, running from mid-April through October, that will cover the daily tasks of growing over 40 different vegetables and herbs on about 4 acres:
– Greenhouse Management: Starting seedlings, irrigation, etc.
– Sowing and transplanting in the field
– Holistic fertility management (Biodynamics, Biological & Organic)
– Application of Biodynamic preparations and foliar sprays
– Weeding, cultivation & pest management
– harvest & post-harvest handling of vegetables and herbs.
The majority of our work is done by hand. We apply Biodynamic and organic principles in managing the farm with a strong emphasis on building healthy, biologically active soil.

Educational Opportunities: Learning is mostly done as hands-on experience. You will be involved in all aspects of growing many different vegetables and herbs from seed to harvest using Biodynamic and biological/organic methods. Though we don't have a structured "curriculum", you'll have ample opportunities to ask questions and get answers depending on your interest.

Skills Desired: Skills and Attitude: Apprentices must be honest, open, respectful, and be ready to work hard while maintaining a positive attitude. Applicants need to be in good physical health and able to work hard in different weather conditions and various positions.

Meals: Meals are not provided, but apprentices have access to all farm produced food.

Stipend: Monthly stipend ranges from $500 to $1000 depending on experience and length of commitment.

Housing: Private bedroom in a beautiful apartment with other farmworkers. The housing includes a shared kitchen, shower, and access to wifi.
