“Interns work 24 hours a week in the production garden under direction of instructors. Each weekday at 1:30 PM, the intern group will receive a two hour lecture focused on the foundations of natural process gardening/farming. Each intern will maintain their own hand-worked plot, filling out the 40 hour work week.”
Educational Opportunities: "Interns have lessons most weekday afternoons. Bob Cannard teaches the majority of lessons, and covers all practical aspects of natural process farming, from seed selection and pruning to tool maintenance and more."
Skills Desired: We aim to have have a variety of backgrounds and levels of farming experience.
Meals: "We provide seasonal vegetables and fruit from the farm, as well as a limited amount of eggs, olive oil, meat, and preserves that the farm produces. Staple foods such as beans, flours, sugar, and grains, are also provided. "
Stipend: "Interns are hired as employees of Green String Farm and will have tuition, room and board deducted from their paychecks. You'll end up with about $50 a week."
Housing: Each group of interns lives in a four-bedroom house on the farm. Interns are not permitted to have animals in the housing.
