General Farm Description: We are a multi species certified organic livestock farm in Bucks County Pennsylvania. Together, co-owners Nathan Layton and Patrick Ebner changed their lives, quit their industry jobs and started this farm to develop, refine and prove sustainable pasture based livestock farming practices.

Internship Details:

We have an open opportunity starting after season (now) 2021 and running at least into end of season 2022. This position has the opportunity to be multi-year.

You will carry out, following training, several farming and property management tasks weekly without supervision or direction. This will include but is not limited to: general feeding chores, maintaining brooders, moving laying hens in pasture and maintaining nesting and roosting areas, collecting and washing eggs, mowing and trimming, moving/ setting up livestock fencing, maintaining gardens, moving chicken tractors, chicken processing, handling pigs and much more.

Our farm is open to the public through our farm store, everyone here is expected to be a representative of the farm and our values. You will take on shared duties of store coverage as well as assisting in moving finished product into stock and filling online orders.

Educational Opportunities: Learn the full workings of a multi-species organic livestock farm. You will work closely with chickens, turkeys, pigs, cattle, dogs and cats and possible sheep. See first hand and learn how our method of responsible, sustainable animal husbandry is done. Our goal is to help someone interested in agriculture learn the needed skill set to make their own success possible.

Skills Desired: No prior farming experience is required. Applicants should have familiarity with tools and be confidently able to learn hand tool skills.

Meals: Weekly eggs, access to garden space and 30% discount on meat, market allowance during farmers market season

Stipend: There is a stipend provided based on expected work load and experience. Approximately 25 Hours, 5-6 days per week Hire until 4-1-22. Approximately 50 Hours, 6 days per week 4-1-22 until 11-30-22

Housing: We provide onsite housing, including all utilities and heat, basic furnishings.
