Internship information
General Farm Description: Holly Hill is far more than a market garden farm! We are a certified organic, non- profit farm that grows vegetables, herbs, flowers and seedlings. The farm uses no-till regenerative farming methods. We were founded with an educational mission, and our programming includes summer camp experiences, on-site field trips and community service opportunities for teenagers who grow produce for local food banks. Today the farm grows produce for an onsite farm stand, farmer’s market, and wholesale customers. Additionally the farm grows a wide variety of seedlings for our annual Plant Sale.CRAFT Member Farm? We are looking for 3 assistant growers. This is a unique opportunity to work on an organic farm with a loyal community of supportive farm customers in the beautiful seaside town of Cohasset, MA, just 25 miles south of Boston. The property consists of 140 acres (2 acres farmed), six greenhouses/high tunnels, historic farm buildings, extensive walking trails through woodlands and salt marsh meadows, all located within ½ mile of the Atlantic Ocean.
This position is best suited for someone looking to broaden their knowledge of vegetable and flower production. An interest in no-till regenerative agriculture is a plus! The ideal candidate would have a desire to take responsibility for some of the tasks and/or projects on the farm such as greenhouse management, irrigation, or marketing. This is a great opportunity to work closely with the farm managers and be a part of the decision making process. A strong preference will be given to applicants with one or more years of farm experience. It is vital that crew members have a positive attitude, sense of humor, a fast paced mentality, and are able to work cooperatively with others. The schedule will vary slightly with the seasons but will typically be 5 days/week, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM with a one hour unpaid lunch break. Compensation starts at $15/hr and is commensurate with experience. Farm vegetables are available to all farm staff.
