Internship information
General Farm Description: Longview Farms is a grassfed beef and pastured chicken farm located in Havana, Florida, about 15 miles from Tallahassee. We are not certified organic, but we follow all organic practices. Our cattle are mostly Red Devons with some Devon-Angus and Devon-Jersey mixes; they are raised in an intensive rotational grazing system on 100 acres and are moved every day during the growing season. We raise broiler chickens and laying hens on pasture in moveable coops. The broilers are moved daily in 16x25 Prairie Schooner chicken tractors, and hens lay in a converted cotton trailer and free range in a poultry netting enclosure with our Great Pyrenees guardian dogs. We sell our products directly to customers through a local farmers market, our farm store, and an area online market.
