General Farm Description: Mighty Tendril Farm specializes in cut-flowers, fresh vegetables, and fruits. We grow without synthetic chemicals or fertilizers and aim for regenerative practices of soil building to encourage healthy plant growth. Established in 2014 we currently sell at farmers markets in Carrboro and Greensboro, offer a veggie + flower CSA, and sell wholesale flowers for florists/designers/events.

Internship Details:

We’re looking for someone to join our Farm Crew for 25-35 hours a week, available Tuesday-Friday, starting immediately (Summer 2020) and working through our main season (end of November), with opportunity to extend through the winter and beyond.

Farm Crew members participate in all aspects of our small-scale vegetable and flower farm. Duties include, but are not limited to: greenhouse work, planting, cutting flowers and harvesting produce, post-harvest handling and flower arranging, weeding/hoeing, irrigation, amending and composting beds.

Applicants should be able to work consistently in all sorts of weather conditions (extreme heat, cold, wet), be engaged, self-motivated, and able to follow instructions. Come with a desire to learn! This is a great opportunity to experience more about what it takes to operate a vegetable and flower farm and we will do our best to teach you what we know.

Prior farm experience is a plus, but not a requirement. We offer farm lunch to all of the Farm Crew as well as produce and flowers from the farm. Starting wage is $10/hr, depending on experience. Please send an email telling us why you want to work on our farm and a resume to

Educational Opportunities: If there is a desire to learn, the farm is full of educational opportunities. Be engaged, ask questions! We love sharing knowledge.

Skills Desired: Preference for folks with prior farm work and especially cut-flower experience, but we will train folks with an enthusiastic attitude and willingness to learn quickly and work efficiently.

Meals: Lunch provided along with take-home produce and flower benefits

Stipend: Pay is hourly, based on experience, starting pay is $10/hour.
