Internship informationGeneral Farm Description: "Sandbrook Meadow Farm is located on 50 acres in the beautiful rolling farmland of Sergeantsville, Hunterdon County, New Jersey. The spring of 2011 marked the farm's first growing season offering fresh vegetables to CSA shareholders. We are committed to preserving the integrity of the land and the joys of farm community through responsible organic farming practices. We will be entering our 9th growing season and have 300+ CSA members, as well as two farmers' markets, and a handful of wholesale accounts. Join us in shortening the food chain from our farm to your table. "

“Our Interns are a key element of the CSA and can expect to contribute and learn skills in greenhouse management, field production methods, harvesting, distribution, crop planning, and pest and disease management. Applicants need to be fit, able to work independently and as a team, and live a healthy lifestyle. We value a cooperative relationship and look forward to working and learning with you side by side. We are committed to making our internships an educational experience as well as a working one.”
Educational Opportunities: There will be opportunities to visit/ tour various farming operations in the region. Being able to observe different farming systems as well as conversing with other interns and farmers is a great way to build your knowledge base.
Skills Desired: "Previous experience is helpful, but not imperative. Enthusiasm for growing food sustainably and being a part of a community is required. "
Meals: Produce provided from farm. Interns are also encouraged to can/freeze/dry food as it is available. Interns are responsible for their own cooking.
Stipend: "$1,000/ month plus on farm housing"
Housing: "On-farm communal housing in an historic, preserved barn with modern living amenities. "
