General Farm Description: Our farm is entering our eighth year of production. We farm 10 acres of specialty vegetables, fruits, rice, buckwheat and dry beans. In 2020 we planted an orchard with blueberries, kiwi and pear with persimmons coming soon. We sell at farmers markets and many restaurants in the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill area and in 2021 we will be launching a 200-member CSA with contact-free drop sites. We grow using organic and regenerative methods including cover cropping, minimal tillage and crop rotation. We work very hard to create a team environment where employees have an opportunity to learn all aspects of the farm operation and grow into leadership positions.

Internship Details:

We are currently looking for three crew members, including one team leader to join our 2021 team. Our crew members work closely together to accomplish a wide variety of tasks on the farm from crop seeding to harvest and market prep. We work to create a positive, structured environment where team members can quickly gain knowledge and proficiency in the day-to-day operations of the farm. Tasks include: greenhouse seeding, crop transplanting, orchard maintenance, cultivation, harvest wash and prep for market and restaurant sales, irrigation, and more. 

We are seeking to fill:
1 Position 5 days a week, Monday through Friday, 40-45 hours per week. (One of these positions is for team leader)
1 Position 5 days a week Tuesday through Saturday. These crew members will attend markets or CSA drop sites on Saturdays, 40-45 hours per week.
1 Position 4 days a week Monday through Thursday, 32-35 hours per week.

Meals: Fresh-cooked meals are provided once a week on the farm and eaten communally.

Stipend: Pay begins at $12/hour
