Internship information
General Farm Description: Small vegetable farm located in eastern South Dakota. We grow dozens of varieties of vegetables and sell through a CSA and an on farm vegetable stand. We are not certified organic, but do meet or exceed the National Organic Program rules and regulations. This upcoming season we are exploring the world of agrotourism in addition to our 100+ person CSA. As an intern, your primary focus would be on the CSA and learning all that you can about growing vegetables in a relatively short season. We also do some canning and have a few on-farm events and a pumpkin patch at the end of the season. We are located 15 minutes south of the Sioux Falls, SD.

Internship Details:

40+ hours per week internship–some weeks it’s a little more, some a little less. Learn all aspects of small farm food production, from seed to harvest. Marketing, equipment, irrigation, fertilization, plant health, customer service, food safety, food preservation, animal care, etc.


Educational Opportunities: Hands-on education. Job will include starting plants from seed, transplanting, direct seeding, drip irrigation planning and setup, weeding, pest control, plant health diagnosis and treatment, harvesting, washing, packing, working at a stand, handling money, operating a tractor with various implements, operating several hand tools, marketing and social media, processing and canning vegetables, livestock care, customer service, and overall land/farm management. Valid driver's license required.
