Position Description:
Expectations for interns include helping with most components of our production farm operation. Tasks assigned will include harvesting, washing & preparing produce for our markets, setting up and selling at the farmers market, preparing growing beds, starting seeds, transplanting, cultivating, weeding, irrigation, high-tunnel maintenance, compost preparation and application, along with other farm duties as necessary for growing and selling our crops. Position Description:
Interns will be expected to assist with all aspects of our farm operation, including bed preparation, seed starting, planting,irrigating, weeding, harvesting, preparation of produce for the market and work at the farmers' markets we attend. We expect a minimum of 50 hours of work per week with two days off, not necessarily in sequence. During prime harvest, 10 hour days are common. Special Consideration: Value added food processing and experience with making corn based products such as masa, tortillas and tamales is a plus! English primarily spoken, but Spanish bilingual. We are unable to accommodate dogs and cats.

Position Description:
We are accepting applications for internships leading to a possible farm caretaker position after a successful one year period. During the internship period, we ask for 20 dedicated work hours per week, usually during three weekdays. Seasonal work can include harvesting, processing and storing foods, soil-building (earthworks, rock-work, rainwater harvesting systems), planting and mulching, natural building projects, farm maintenance, event preparation, etc. Busy weeks or seasons may require extra hours, balanced with vacation or free time when it slows. We started our first serious succession planting this year after picking up a third one-farm market. If you'd like to learn this enormously useful tool along with the growing methods of the high desert this could be a very interesting and beneficial position.
