General Description: Herbs, Flowers, Food & Fun. Fill your senses with the fragrance, taste, texture and display of our wide range of culinary herbs, edible flowers, heirloom tomato plants, U-Pick cut flowers and specialty greens – all raised using all-natural growing conditions and sustainable agriculture methods. We have a greenhouse, 2 production gardens, and a small country store. We sell at farm-gate, farmer’s market, and to restaurants & caterers. We host several agri-tourism and culinary events throughout the season, including the ‘World Basset Races’.

Meals: Not provided.

Skills Desired: Would be expected to work in all areas of the operation ie. Transplanting, digging, weeding, watering, harvesting, serving the public, or helping set up or plan events; work is varied, no day is the same but sometimes it is very physical.

Minimum work expectations:
Willingness, positive attitude, participation, good observation skills, sharing of ideas. Needs to be able to drive. Should work at least 4 hours a day; but hours can be flexible. It would help to be able to work at least 1 day on weekends at least in May & June, or when on-farm events are held.

Educational Opportunities:

Housing: Lodging is not provided on farm, but camping facilities are close by.

Internship Details: Grow herb plants, fresh-cut herbs, edible and cut flowers, veggie & herb containers, tomato and pepper plants mostly from seed, and all grown naturally. We also grow gourmet greens have a U-Pick garden, and a country store. May grow a small amount of pastured poultry. Also have the opportunity to work alongside a horticulturalist and sell at farmers markets, and to help plan and run agri-tourism and culinary events.
