Skills Desired: Farm work is hard physical labor, involving heavy lifting, repetitive motion and bending and kneeling for many hours at a time. Candidates must be physically fit and ready for outdoor work in all weather, including rain, heat (up to 90 degrees F), and cold (down to 30 degrees F or colder in September). Proper attire, including waterproof boots, heavy duty rain gear, warm clothes and a sun hat are necessary to outdoor work. Internship Details: Three days a week will be spent on Goosefoot Farm and 2 days a week on Cripple Creek Organics. This is a great opportunity to gain experience on two different farms. Though we are similar in our growing philosophies, we are also very different farms. You will have the opportunity to learn 2 different ways of operating a small farm and small farm business which will serve to deepen your knowledge of farming and diversify your perspectives. We will try to adhere to a 5 day a week, 8 hour work day, though weather and conditions may dictate longer days and some weekend work at times.
