General Description: Foundation Farm (FF) is an established 5 acre, USDA certified-organic, NO-TILL farm in Northwest Arkansas (20 minutes North of Eureka Springs). It is composed of 60 permanent beds broken down in 5 irrigation zones, producing over 30 vegetable crops year round. We use 5 high tunnels as part of our 4 season harvest season. Our farming method includes no-till, mulching, and reaches high levels of fertility thru high organic matter and a complete respect for the soil biology and diversity.

Meals: Lunches are prepared and consumed together following field-work. Other meals can be prepared by interns in our summer kitchen if they decide to stay on the farm.

Skills Desired: Needs overall physical ability to work in the field. Apprenticeship period is March through October, including hot summer months.

Educational Opportunities: Weekly classes are designed to help apprentices get ready to start and run their own farm.

Stipend: Possible depending on availability after a 4 week trial period.

Housing: A simple structure on platform is available for 3 people. They are many possible camping sites available around the farm. Amenities include outdoor hot shower, compost toilet and summer kitchen with stove and refrigeration.

Internship Details: 3 half-days (Mo/We/Fr mornings) each lasting 5 hours of monitored field-work, with once-a-week classes to cover all topics related to starting and running a professional farm.
