General Description: Our farm is located in the fertile Pemberton Meadows, 30mins from Whistler and 2 hr drive from Vancouver and a 5min walk from the Lillooet River. There is an endless amount of nature to be discovered in the area. We're an 8 acre certified organic vegetable farm. We sell through a CSA and 3 Market in Vancouver weekly. We will be adding a chicken tractor and 99 lying hens this spring and a few bee hives. We work hard to grow quality produce using sustainable farm practices. You will learn planting, harvesting, irrigation, weeding, farmers markets, vegetable processing and washing, chicken duties, and much more. We have a furnished 1br suite in our house with wifi preferably for a couple. We also have a trailer for a single, amenities to be shared with the suite. You will be cooking all your meals as a routine but you will also be invited up for lunches and tea with our family from time to time. Farm vegetables and staple foods will be provided and a generous stipend.

Internship Ends: November 1, 2014

Minimum Length of Stay: 6 months

Meals: We will supply staples (flour, beans, oats...) and vegetables. You will prepared all of your meals and we will have lunch all together once/week.

Skills Desired: We are looking for an independent, motivated, and hard working individual who is keen to learn about organic farming and contribute to our farm with a positive attitude.

Educational Opportunities: An apprentice would gain experience in all aspects of our farm system such as tending to greenhouse starters, transplanting, direct seeding, weeding, mulching, managing pasture run chickens, tending to tomato pepper and cucumbers in greenhouses, harvesting, washing, selling at farmers markets, and preparing CSA boxes.

Stipend: $1000/month

Housing: furnished suite with bathroom and kitchen and wifi. or a trailer with fridge, stove, running water, and electricity shared amenities with the suite
