General Description: We are a small organic farm located in the Pemberton Meadows, 2 1/2 hours drive from Vancouver, BC. We cultivate 2 acres of mixed vegetables and rotate 15 pigs and 50 laying hens through our fields regularly. We market our product primarily through farmers markets, but also through our CSA and to restaurants.
Internship Starts: May 1st
Internship Ends: October 31st

Minimum Length of Stay: 5.5 months
Meals: Lunches will be cooked and eaten altogether in the farm house. Breakfast and dinners will be eaten separately. Apprentices will have full cooking facilities in the trailer provided for accommodation. We will provide the majority of food for apprentices.
Skills Desired: Experience working with growing vegetables and/or livestock helpful but not necessary. An ability to work 8 hours a day, outdoors, physically a necessity.
Educational Opportunities: There will be regular times set aside for learning, at which time we will conduct a 'class' on the particular topic. We would like the apprentices to chose the topics they are most interested in before that learning session, so we can make sure apprentices are getting what they want from the apprenticeship. There of course will be learning by doing by working alongside with us and the option for self-directed projects as the apprentices feel comfortable.
Stipend: We can offer a monthly stipend of $300 in May and June, $400 in July, August, Sept, Oct, with a $200 bonus at the end of the season.
Housing: A large (new and clean) trailer with full kitchen, fridge, dining table, couch and many bedding options.
