General Description: Bugtussle Farm is about building soil organically, biodynamically, joyfully, while attempting to work cooperatively with nature. We live in a secluded wooded hollow, do most of our cooking on a wood cookstove, have a gravity fed spring water system, and live happily with minimal electricity from a small solar array. We have been successfully living this way while farming full time and running a 50 family CSA since 2002. The farm is 160 acres. Half forested and half open. We raise 3 acres of diverse vegetables, and have a small blueberry patch and mushroom operation. The heartbeat of the farm is our growing herd of cattle and flock of sheep and laying hens which are intensively managed to provide our farms fertility and ultimate sustainability.
