General Description: Our School at Blair Grocery is an independent community school, sustainability education center and urban farm operating out of the old Blair family grocery in New Orleans Lower 9th Ward. Our mission is to create a resource rich safe space for youth empowerment and sustainable community development. We envision a community where empowered youth engage in reflective practice with others to actualize effective, replicable environmental justice based local solutions to global challenges.

Our School at Blair Grocery is a Regional Outreach and Training Center (ROTC) of Will Allen's Growing Power (www.growingpower.com) and was recently featured in the Sunday edition of the New York Times (http://www.nytimes.com/2011/01/16/education/16blair.html)
