General Description: 3-acre homestead with 4 commercial organic greenhouses. Room for someone younger and more entergetic than I can grow a large vegetable garden and have all the proceeds. Good location on State Highway to sell your produce. I can teach you business management, propogation, culture and much more. I have room in my home for a single person or two if willing to share a room. No pets, no children. I need help with weeding, weedeating, mowing, moving up to 6 foot tall trees in 15 gallon pots (dollies and wagons) during summer and fall and transplanting over twenty thousand heirloom tomato plants and thousands of other plants during the months of March, April and May. room and board, education and a stipend based on the income that is produced during your stay. its up to you!

Internship Starts: Anytime after July 15th, 2010
Internship Ends: TBD
Number of Interns: 1
App Deadline: Not Applicable
Minimum Length of Stay: 2 Months

Meals: I fix what I want, when I want it for myself now. I am a good cook and willing to do so for the right person. Otherwise, Kitchen is open and stocked. I can double my grocery budget, in other words, you won't be eating better than I normally do.

Skills Desired: prefer strong person, but will consider other talents. Left brained (artist/ musicians) need not apply and neither should Wiccan or alternative religions as I have been there and done that. Jesus is my Savior. I will not preach to you but I expect respect at my age.

Educational Opportunities: My degree is in Agribusiness (30 years ago!) and have 20 years experience as a greenhouse owner. I will teach you business sense, marketing, advertising, propagation, plant culture and this summer I took my local employee on vacation with me to a trade show in South Carolina and Biltmore Estate, for 4 days. lots on books and magazines on site and computer and internet available for your use

Stipend: How much you take away from this experience depends on how much is taken in during your stay or what I estimate will come in as a direct result of your labors. For example, if you work with me preparing the crop in February, March and April. Plant your truck crops in May and harvest and sell through the summer, you can come out quiet nicely

Housing: I have a spare room in my home (built in 2008) or we can clean out space in the shed where I spent my first winter here, and you have access to the main house

Preferred method Of Contact: Email

Internship Details: Some minor construction projects, like greenhouse tables, replacing poly roofs or shade clothes if storm damage occurs. Transplanting, moving plants. I never ask someone to do work I'm not willing to do myself, I'm just not as able now at 55 years old.
