General Description: We grow 15 acres of mixed vegetables, plus a few chickens and honey bees on our 100 acre farm, which is situated on the scenic Niagara Escarpment 75 km. northwest of Toronto. Our produce is sold through a 150-member CSA, two farmer's markets, a roadside stand, and wholesale accounts. Apprentices will learn primarily through field experience, and limited formal educational sessions. Comfortable, private accommodation is provided in an on-farm bungalow. A weekly stipend is provided, starting at $100, and increasing to $200. Applicants should have a keen interest in organic farming, be fit and able to work hard in all kinds of weather, sometimes performing lengthy, monotonous tasks. We look forward to hearing from you! Internship Details: Three working apprenticeship positions are available at Switch Farm for 2003. This is an opportunity to live and learn at our certified organic market garden. Positions run from April/May to mid-November.
