General Description: Donna's Farm is a small 8 acre farm located 15 miles outside of Beaumont, Texas. We are a Certified Natural Grower and have been so for 5 years. We use no chemical fertilizers or pesticides. We grow mainly produce and have a small pasture poultry operation. Our Farm has a 30+ member CSA and also sells to local restaurants and at the Beaumont Farmers Market every Saturday. Starting in 2017 Donna's Farm will have a 6000 square foot aquaponics greenhouse to supply the area with fresh lettuce and greens all year.

Meals: We will provide minium one meal per-day and you will have access to all the produce you can eat along with eggs and chicken
Educational Opportunities: Chosen interns will be filled with ample opportunities for learning. Being so close to the coast we can grow produce for over 300 days. Interns will learn what grows best in our coastal soils according to the time of year. They will also learn about proper crop rotation and planning. Pest control done by natural methods is a very vital tool that the chosen intern will learn as well.
Like any experience, you will get out of it what you put into it. We have attainable benchmarks, but they require effort and sweat.
Stipend: Depending on experience pay ranges from $75-$200 a week. There is access to internet at the farm house and washer and dryer.
Housing: Housing will be provided at no additional charge.

Internship Details: Chosen interns will help with all daily farm activities. Daily activities include but are not limited to: planting, picking, ground cultivation, processing vegetables, seed starting. In the Aquaponics greenhouse and in the field. Interns will also learn help with chicken/turkey processing as well (depends on season). We are a work smarter not harder type of farm and use technology and tools when every we can.
