General Description: We are young farmers who have founded and run the only private farm within Houston's inner loop. We believe in the innovation of the young farmer and have worked to promote the goals of regenerative agriculture within the context of providing access to our immediate community and engaging the larger conversation surrounding the need for more initiatives supporting young farmers and local agriculture in our region. We're looking for a passionate individuals willing to support the day to day operations of our 1.25 acre farm just 2 miles outside of downtown in the heart of Houston's East End. We offer a 30 person CSA, on farm- farm stand, and 2 off farm Farmer's Markets. We are offering a Farm Manager Position as well as an Apprenticeship

Internship Starts: 01-15-17
Internship Ends: 12-21-17
Number of Interns: 2
App Deadline: 01-10-17
Minimum Length of Stay: 5 months

Meals: Breakfast included during work week.

Skills Desired: Farm Manager - Minimum 2 years experience on organic production farms. Ability to draw up and implement planting plan for the season. Good communicator. Hard Working. Experience leading work groups and managing farm crews. Friendly and open to visitors and groups who visit the farm. Speaking spanish a plus but not required Apprentice - Ability to commitment to hours desired. Have in interest in organic agricultural production. Good communicator. Hard working

Educational Opportunities: Taking on responsibility of leading a farm and crew, implementing planting plan, understanding of innovative techniques of the farm, dynamics of growing in urban area,understanding of Houston's unique growing climate, 2-4 seasonal farm sponsored field trips.

Stipend: Farm Manager - FT- $10-13/hour, Depending on Experience; Apprentice -PT - $8/hou

Housing: Will work to help find affordable housing in the area
