General Description: Painted Sage Farm is located near the mighty Green River at foot of the majestic Wind River Mountains. At 7200 ft, there are 28 frost free days. The farm grows in two coldhouses - a 30' x 48' and a 30' x 72' in addition to a 16' x 32' hoophouse, raised beds and coldframes. The farm has 25 CSA members for 2011. Hens are on pasture in the mobile chicken wagon. The farm raises Mulefoot Hogs and heritage turkeys also. In 2010, the farm had its first interns and in 2011 intends to expand the program. Interns share a trailer, food from the farm is provided. Duties include planting, cultivating, harvesting, weeding, packaging, CSA deliveries, farmers markets as well as tending to animals. volunteer opportunities from May through October.
