WHAT KINDS OF WORK EXPERIENCES ARE INVOLVED: We strive to give interns a broad, comprehensive experience, from start to finish and everything in between. Tasks include: Seeding, watering, fertilizing and transplanting in the field of over 25,000 vegetable transplants; managing irrigation in the field and high tunnel; cultivating and hoeing weeds; trellising tomatoes in the field and greenhouse; harvesting, grading and packing produce; hauling produce to markets; stocking, rotating and pricing produce; selling produce; delivering produce to charitable organizations; operating and maintaining equipment; possible involvement in internet marketing.

" We strive for a work environment that is challenging but not grueling. It is highly physical work and primary duties will change some over the course of the season. In the spring you'll be applying compost to greenhouse beds, seeding, transplanting, and hand-weeding. "The intern will work in all aspects of the farm under the direction the farm manager. Daily tasks include planting, weeding, watering the greenhouse, harvesting and processing field crops, and mowing. The farm intern may also be asked to help at the Farmers Market on Saturdays, or to assist with other weekend events, as well as minor construction/repairs or maintenance tasks as required.
