Local Food Plan Aims to Expand Production in West Central Minnesota

Minnesota Public Radio reports that a five-year local food plan will bring together resources in four counties in West Central Minnesota to focus on local food systems. A regional food council will oversee work on the initiative. The initiative focuses on connecting producers with area resources, coordinating land access for beginning producers, expanding markets for small producers, reducing food waste, and addressing the affordability of healthy food.
