Organic Farmer Shares Expertise at American Farm Bureau Federation Convention

Minnesota farmer Carolyn Olson shared her expertise in organic crops with farmers at the American Farm Bureau Federation’s Annual Convention in January. Olson and her husband transitioned to organic corn, soybeans, small grains, and alfalfa two decades ago to take advantage of the profit potential. She spoke at the convention about the challenges of weed management and pest and disease control, as well as problems with pesticide drift and acceptance of organic farmers by peers.
