Pollinator Protection Guide Released by National Corn Growers Association

The National Corn Growers Association, in partnership with the Honey Bee Health Coalition, has released Best Management Practices (BMPs) for Pollinator Protection in Field Corn. The BMPs presented in the 21-page digital guide identify potential effects of agricultural practices on bees at each stage of production and recommend ways to mitigate those impacts. Key practices recommended in the guide include improving communications between farmers and beekeepers, verifying the need for pest control and considering alternative strategies, and planting and preserving flowering plants in non-crop areas.
