USDA reviews and renews the National Organic Standards Board (NOSB) Charter every two years. The 2022 NOSB Charter update process is now complete, and the new version is posted on the AMS website. The National Organic Standards Board (NOSB) announced that it will meet in Sacramento, California, October 25-27, 2022. The in-person meeting will be webcast live. Public comment webinars are scheduled for October 18 and 20, 2022. The NOSB invites public comment, both written and oral, on its agenda topics. USDA announced the appointment of four new members to the National Organic Standards Board (NOSB). The new members will serve 5-year terms on the 15 member board. New appointees are Liz Graznak of Missouri in an an environmental protection and resource conservation seat, Allison Johnson of California in a public interest or consumer interest group seat, Dr. Dilip Nandwani of Tennessee in the scientist seat, and Javier Zamora of California in a farmer seat....

In 2014, my colleagues and I held an evening reception at our office in San Antonio for the members of the National Organic Standards Board (NOSB). We wanted to show our appreciation to these volunteers and organic champions who do the often-thankless job of interpreting and defending the USDA organic standards.
