Internship information
General Farm Description: Foxfire Farm is a small-scale diversified farming operation in its third year of production. Our goal is to provide healthy, nutrient-dense food to families while maintaining responsible land stewardship goals and environmental ethics. We use organic and regenerative farming practices to grow vegetable crops primarily for distribution to wholesale accounts. The farm is 13.5 acres, with approximately 4 acres under cultivation between vegetables and cover crops. The farm is still in the startup phase; successful candidates will be open-minded and flexible to trying different production systems as we experiment with reduced tillage and no-till systems. This year we will continue to expand vegetable production, focusing on a dozen or so crops that work well in our system. Each year we also work with a local seed company to grow a unique seed trial of veggie, herb, and flower varieties. Building projects will include a high tunnel and wash/pack facility.CRAFT Member Farm? No
