General Farm Description: Small Diverse Organic Dairy Goat farm located in Western MA. We farm 6 acres at the farm and lease additional land for summer pasture. We milk 6-10 dairy goats to sell raw goat milk and cheese off of the farm. We raise 200 meat birds during the season along with 30 eggs layers. Our Sheep and Goats are raised on grass for most of the season. We have a 30' x 73' High Tunnel that we raise vegetables with our own compost. We intentionally farm using the the biodynamic Calendar to calculate our best growing days. We have a mix of fruit trees and a 1/4 acres of vegetable and flower gardens to sell produce at our local farmer market and at the self-serve farm store.CRAFT Member Farm? No

Dandelion Hill farm is a diversified organic farm with a mission to produce high quality foods, build community, and use farming methods that promote the long-term health of the land and animals, We raise Dairy goats, Sheep, chickens and meat goats on our 6 acre farm. We lease an additional 30 acres for pasture. Our raw milk, cheese, eggs, chicken, Lamb and Goat meat are sold in our self-service farm store and at 2 farmer markets. Days are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday Friday and Saturday. 7-5 . Must be able to attend farmer Market on Thursday and Saturday. Valid driver license required . Housing available. Milking goats 2 times a day, feeding and management of kid goats, mucking barns, tractor driving and moving animals in pasture. Attending Bees and gardens. We would like full time help but part time is also available. A reasonable stipend will be offered to experienced help and we have a tiny home to offer for housing. Couples are welcomed.
Educational Opportunities: Learn all aspects of a micro goat dairy. Milking goats, Cheese making, processing the milk for customers and all the other day to day operations of the small farm. Learn about High tunnel vegetable growing and learn management of goat, sheep and chickens.
Skills Desired: We are looking for someone that can commit from early spring 2023 until October. Full or Part time workers needed. Commit for season or a year. Individual must be physically fit and able to lift 50 lb grain bag. Good work ethics and able to listen to direction. Must be flexible to work in other areas of the farm when needed. Must be able to work alone at times and think outside the box. Must be passionate about sustainable farm life and work in all types of weather if needed. Love of food and community. Meals: No, intern will need to cook their own meals.
Stipend: A weekly stipend will be offered with additional access to milk, eggs and vegetables.
