General Farm Description: Full Moon Farm is a diversified organic vegetable farm in Rockport, Maine, between the mountains and the sea at the original pre-air-conditioning vacation destination in MidCoast Maine, where the summer days are beautiful, never too hot, and pond or ocean is always close by. We grow intensively on one acre using skilled handwork and no-till methods. Our mission is to grow food of exceptional quality, and to creating a thriving farm ecosystem of plants, animals, and people. Internship Details:
Farm Production Interns are involved in all aspects of farm production, including bed prep, transplanting, seeding, weeding, harvesting, wash/pack, markets and delivery. Internships are eligible for as little as two weeks and as much as one month, with continued regular employment if a good fit for all.
Qualifications:
- Strong interest in organic farming, food systems, ecology, and/or community building
- One year of vegetable production preferred but not required
- Responsible, punctual, detail-oriented, and efficient
- Great attitude while working outdoors in all weather.
- Ability to lift 30 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally; to stand, kneel or crouch for extended periods.
- Valid driver’s license

Educational Opportunities: Full range of farm work is available, and expressed focus ~ be it greenhouse work, seeding, harvesting, packing, marketing, customer relations, social media skills ~ will be considered.
Skills Desired: A good work ethic, an enjoyment of and passion for farm work and growing healthy, vibrant organic vegetables, and enjoying being yourself and finding your way within a group or team.
Meals: On occasion, vegetables available for all Interns ~ farm kitchen available to all on-farm staff.
Stipend: Yes. Our regular $17 per hour crew member rate will be paid during full duration of work ($680 for 40 hour week)
