General Farm Description: TUF is a non-profit farm promoting youth and community education in Denver, Colorado. The Urban Farm (TUF) strives to provide the opportunity for urban youth to engage and participate in local food and agricultural systems by removing the barriers to entry such as land access, time, location and finances. As a community farm and educational center TUF provides a unique opportunity for urban youth to learn hands-on about agriculture without ever leaving the city. We believe access and education are essential to promoting future generations of farmers, healthy eaters, and sustainably minded consumers. The Urban Farm strives to inspire excitement for learning through practical work experience in a farm setting while fostering respect, responsibility, curiosity, caring and grit.

Internship Details:

Supervised by TUF’s horticulture manager and horticulture assistant, the urban farm apprentice is responsible for assisting with TUF’s horticultural operations which include the production of vegetables, fruit, herbs, and flowers on ¾ acre, a demonstration summer camp plot, and a hydroponic container farm. This position will assist the farm manager and assistant manager to ensure that the market garden is producing as well as engaging with members of the community about gardening and farming. TUF is looking to hire two apprentices for the 2025 season. This role is an exciting opportunity to help support TUF’s horticultural operations.
