General Farm Description: Fox Farms is a ten-acre, regenerative vegetable farm that provides fresh fruit and vegetables for the Fox Hill Bruderhof community. We grow over 30 different crops, and heavily utilize composting, cover cropping, and reduced tillage practices.

Internship Details:

Fox Farm’s Publishing and Agriculture Internship offers a combined experience of publishing, farming, and community.  Are you interested in learning the details of publishing, improving your writing and editing skills, while living in community and working in an organic garden?

You can do it all next summer. Intern at Plough, and participate in the daily life of a Christian intentional community, while also learning the basics of regenerative agriculture. Participants will spend half the day working in Plough Publishing’s offices and the other half in the organic garden on site.

Opportunities

  • Develop skills in writing, editing, graphic design, fact checking, proofreading, marketing, and advertising. Receive time and coaching to do reporting for Plough.
  • Learn about organic cultivation practices in farming including regenerative practices such as no-till, cover crops, composting, biological inputs, and foliar nutrition.
  • Visit other successful Hudson Valley farms.
  • Join the Fox Hill community in daily fellowship, prayer, and meals. Participate in the Fox Hill young adults group and take personal time in nature.
  • Room and board are provided. You will be hosted by a Bruderhof family.

Who is eligible?

We invite applications from students who have completed at least two years of college or university and are committed to Christian discipleship.


Educational Opportunities: Gain an understanding of how soil biology and chemistry affect nutrient uptake. Practice different composting practices used in regenerative farming such as vermicompost, Johnson-Su bioreactors, and windrow composting. Learn how to organically control pests and diseases.
