Apprenticeships for the 2025 Season
Apprenticeships are an opportunity to immerse in farm life and bask in the peace and beauty of the land. For a low fee, you can stay on farm and focus on an aspect of farming or herbalism that interests you.
Enrollment is rolling, meaning the start and end dates are flexible. We customize each apprenticeship to meet the desires of the Apprentice and needs of the farm. In general, an apprentice stays on farm for a 1-3 week period, focusing on a farm-related task for 25 hours each week. Free time can be spent relaxing and enjoying the farm, the town of Clayton or all that beautiful Rabun County has to offer. Examples of Focused Apprenticeship themes, below:
-
Regenerative Farming- learn the tenants and applications in practice from one of the Southeast’s leading experts in Regenerative land management. Foundational work begins with our Farm, Garden and Landscape class. (Receive a significant discount by scheduling your Apprenticeship with this class.)
-
Whole Medicine Immersion- Plants are multi-dimensional and have much to teach us, through connecting with their elemental spirit/ essence and their physicality. Become intimately familiar with a plant medicine, from its essence, growing habit and preferences, through harvest, to drying or processing, medicine-making and consumption.
-
Art- help create specific things we need on the farm, like specialized watercolor illustrations for plant ID pages, outdoor sign-making or decorative fence building
The cost for an Apprenticeship is $300/ week, for a private room, with shared kitchen + bath. Apprentices receive a sizable discount for any paid classes and events happening on site during their stay. Apprentices are in good physical condition to move about the farm on foot and understand weather can be variable in Rabun County. The attitude is gratitude!
If you believe you are interested in an Apprenticeship and are a good fit for the farm, please tell us why in the contact form on the Home Page! We look forward to hearing from you.
