Internship information
General Farm Description: Lifeline Produce was established in 1978. We farm on 80 acres in the Bitterroot Valley of Montana. Located 40 miles south of Missoula. We have 15+ acres of Homegrown and USDA Certified Organic vegetables, herbs, a hoop-house, a greenhouse, a bedding plant operation, and maintain approximately 10 hens, 12 ewes and 30+ beef cattle. Our farm prioritizes soil health and has been recognized as leader in regenerative agriculture. We are a mid-scale production farm that serves wholesale accounts, two farmers markets, as well as retailers and restaurants across western Montana. We grow all of the livestock forage and grow no salad mix. We are members of the Montana Sustainable Growers Union and are Homegrown certified. We produce our own biodiesel on-site to power all of our tractors and farm delivery vehicles, and we maintain over 25 KW of solar panels to offset our power needs. We are two miles from the Bitterroot River for fishing and swimming, and we have a pond on the property for hot summer days, and the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness is at our back door.
