Job Type: Full-Time Contractor Position (March – November)
Compensation: $3000 + Housing Provided

The Opportunity
We are seeking an Assistant farm Manager to join our team immediately on a full-time contract basis through the end of the year. This role is ideal for someone with previous market garden experience who is eager to take on leadership responsibilities and contribute to the daily operations of a working farm that supplies a high-end restaurant. While this is a contract position for the 2025 growing season, there is absolutely a potential to continue growing with our organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and oversee daily farm operations, including seeding, transplanting, cultivation, irrigation, pest and weed management, and harvesting
- Assist with seedling propagation, greenhouse maintenance, and seasonal planting schedules
- Lead or support harvest crews, wash, pack, and prepare produce for restaurant use and other distribution channels
- Implement crop rotation, composting, cover cropping, and organic pest and disease management strategies
- Assist with irrigation setup, fencing, tool and equipment upkeep, and general farm maintenance
- Track planting schedules, yields, pest issues, and other farm data to support efficient planning and decision-making
- Work alongside farm crew, seasonal workers, and volunteers, helping to train and guide less experienced team members
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 1 year of experience on a market garden farm or similar agricultural operation
- Strong understanding of organic and regenerative farming principles
- Passion for farm-to-table food production and an understanding of how farm operations connect to culinary needs
- Ability to work efficiently and maintain quality in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently while taking direction from the farm and ranch manager
- Experience with farm tools, irrigation systems, and basic farm infrastructure maintenance
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, work in all weather conditions, and perform repetitive tasks with attention to detail
- Basic mechanical or carpentry skills are a plus (tool repair, irrigation maintenance, fencing, etc.)
- Experience operating farm equipment (BCS walk-behind tractors, small tractors, etc.) is a bonus
- Valid driver’s license and own transportation
Schedule & Work Conditions
- Full-time, contractor position through October 31st, 2025
- Housing provided on-site
- Work hours vary by season, with longer days during peak growing months
- Weekend work may be required as needed
