Internship Details:
We are seeking an Assistant Farm Manager to support day-to-day farm operations and help the owners improve systems.
The role requires assistance with:
- Fieldwork: from bed preparation to harvest
- Installation and maintenance of farm infrastructure
- Crop plan execution, including successions, and basic record keeping
- Produce processing: washing, packing, storage, and quality control
- Tool maintenance and upkeep
- Weeding and managing pest pressure
- Managing volunteers
Requirements
- Must be physically able to perform strenuous, outdoor farm work in varying weather conditions
- Strong organizing skills
- Experience with a BCS or other walk-behind tractors
- Experience with small engine maintenance
- Market gardening experience and familiarity with specialty crops
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with a small team
- Willingness to leverage technology when appropriate
