General Farm Description: Wild East Farm is a diversified farm in McDowell County, NC raising organic pastured meats and no till vegetables. Our animals rotate amongst 12 acres of tree crop plantings. We sell direct to the community at farmers markets and to local food access organizations who distribute our foods for free to the community. We find genuine joy and fulfillment in farming and truly love our shared lives here on the land.

Internship Details:

We are expanding our team and are seeking two additional farm crew members for the 2025 growing season. Crew members will be involved in all aspects of farm field operations, from animals to vegetables, as well as engaged in community work of farmers markets and educational events.

Educational Opportunities: The farm is a working example of integrated animal/perennial food systems, as well as profitable no-till market gardening. Crew members will gain a wide breadth of ecological farming knowledge through participation in our farm activities and mentorship by our experienced farmers. Additionally, our farm is very involved in the local food community and regularly participates in or hosts workshops and other community events.

Skills Desired: Some farming/gardening experience is required, as well as physical capabilities

Meals: Crew members have free open access to farm vegetables and can purchase farm meats at discount prices
