TerraCorps Community Engagement Coordinator with Friends of Holly Hill Farm

Whether you are passionate about conservation, land access, or sustainable agriculture, TerraCorps is here to help you serve local communities and build professional skills through transformative experiences.

TerraCorps is an AmeriCorps affiliated environmental nonprofit preparing and mobilizing emerging leaders to help communities gain access to and conserve land for people and nature. We do this by partnering with a network of 40+ nonprofits in Massachusetts and Rhode Island focused on community needs related to local land conservation and sustainable agriculture. These partners act as service sites for a new cohort of up to 60 AmeriCorps service members annually. Service members are paired with a site supervisor who provides guidance and mentorship while they build capacity for the organization and learn to manage community programs in one of 5 coordinator positions:  Community Engagement Coordinators (CEC), Sustainable Agriculture Coordinators (SAC), Land Stewardship Coordinators (LSC), Youth Education Coordinators (YEC), Land Conservation Coordinator (LCC).

Friends of Holly Hill Farm is interviewing candidates for a Community Engagement Coordinator (CEC) position. The CEC will engage with the Education Director to manage volunteers on community service projects, educate or train individuals in environmental stewardship or environmentally conscious practices, and complete three capacity building projects. Potential projects include:

  • Serve with the education director and community outreach director to create, organize and facilitate year-round adult workshops and presentations on sustainability (environmental, climate, energy, and food insecurity.
  • Serve with the education director and community outreach director to reorganize the teen and adult volunteer program that supports the Farm to Food Pantry Program.
  • Serve with the education director, community outreach director, and the executive director to create an event that invites partner organizations to educate the community on different aspects of sustainability.

The full position description for the CEC at Friends of Holly Hill Farm can be found at TerraCorps Available Member Positions.
