Internship information
General Farm Description: Gathering Springs farm is a sustainable vegetable farm utilizing organic farming practices. We are in our 7th season and we are looking to add to our team growing on just under 2 acres, focusing on a diverse range of vegetables, as well as cut flowers, small fruits and a 200 hen laying flock that rotationally grazes on pasture 365 days a year. This season we have a 60 member CSA, attend a number of local farmers markets, and have a very active on farm store. We also regularly offer a series of on-farm events to our community. Our growing space is roughly 1.5a of annual vegetables (including 2 unheated high tunnels and a heated greenhouse), 0.75a of perennials and around 0.25a of cut flowers. We are located in Middleburg, VA. GSF is co-owned by Pam Jones and Sarah Obuchowicz; the successful applicants will have the pleasure of working very closely with both of them, along with other team members, a total of 7 makes up the crew.
